The Opportunity

The Strep A Vaccines Program is advancing research to accelerate the development of a safe and effective vaccine against Strep A, a major cause of preventable illness and serious disease worldwide. Our team is driven by a shared commitment to reduce the impact of Strep A infections, helping to protect children improving lives across communities globally.

As our program continues to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Officer to join our team. In this role you will provide high-quality administrative and secretariat support, playing a vital part in keeping our program running smoothly and effectively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide high level administrative and operational support to the Project Lead, Business Manager and Program leadership.
  • Coordinate governance and committee activities, including scheduling meetings and preparing agendas, papers and associated documentation.
  • Provide secretariat support, including taking minutes, maintaining action registers and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Assist with purchasing and procurement processes, including raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers.
  • Support seminars, meetings and events, including room bookings, catering and video/teleconferencing.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and conference registrations.

Based in our modern offices within Perth Children’s Hospital, this full-time position will be offered for an initial 1-year period.

About You

The successful candidate will be a collaborative and supportive team-member, with an excellent ability to identify and respond to needs. You will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or relevant experience in administration/office support, alongside:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative, executive support, program coordination or governance support role.
  • Experience providing committee or governance support, including minute‑taking.
  • High level organisational and time management skills and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
