Mt Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Administration Assistant - HST to join our team.

Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administration Assistant to support our Health Safety and Training (HST) team whilst working Monday to Friday. Reporting to the HST Manager, this role is primarily responsible for administering and maintaining the site's document control system, ensuring critical HST documentation is accurate, current and compliant. You will also provide administrative and coordination support to the HST team to ensure a high level of safety and compliance standards are maintained across our operations. In addition, you will contribute to achieving Plan on a Page targets and support the development of an inclusive safety culture aligned with Yancoal – Our Way.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook,
  • Demonstrated understanding of training processes and systems;
  • Effective time management, co-ordination, scheduling and record keeping skills;
  • Ability to work independently, with initiative and flexibility;
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively across a variety of stakeholders;
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritise and organise effectively whilst maintaining confidentiality;
  • Ability to problem solve effectively;
  • Well-developed communication style both verbal and written;
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration (desirable);
  • Knowledge of Pegasus Onsite Track Easy (desirable);
  • SAP experience (desirable);
  • Document control experience (desirable).
