If you're the go to person for getting things organised, keeping schedules on track, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks, this role could be your perfect fit.
WALGA is seeking a reliable Administration Assistant to support our Executive Manager Advocacy, and the broader Advocacy portfolio, which includes Marketing, Events, Media and Communications, Corporate Governance, Building and Facilities and Customer Service.
This part-time role is ideal for someone looking to balance meaningful work with other life commitments, whether you're trying to balance study with work, returning to the workforce, managing school hours, or simply just prefer a steady, part-time rhythm!
This role is worked across five days (Monday to Friday), with some flexibility in how the daily hours are arranged.
As our events and advocacy work continues to grow, we’re expanding our support team to ensure our internal operations run smoothly. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Executive Manager Advocacy and collaborate across a dynamic portfolio, coordinating meetings, communications, and supporting administrative processes that help our employees be the authoritative voice and trusted partner for Western Australian Local Government.
What you will be doing day to day.
Enough about us, what about you!
Experience in administration is essential. While knowledge of the Local Government sector is beneficial, it’s not a must. At WALGA, we value curiosity and a willingness to learn just as much.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a stable, part-time role in a supportive and professional team. If this sounds like the right fit for your lifestyle and skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Why you’ll love working here.
At WALGA, we believe success happens at The Sweet Spot, the place where big picture purpose meets local community impact, with perks that come without the trade‑offs. The Sweet Spot is our employee promise. It reflects what you can expect when you work with us: meaningful work, genuine flexibility, and an environment built on curiosity, collaboration and shared purpose. Employees have the opportunity to work on unique and meaningful projects that deliver real benefits to Local Government and the communities they serve. We foster a culture of positive risk-taking, guided by
one of our strategic pillars Explore and underpinned by our value of Curiosity.
You’ll enjoy six weeks of annual leave plus an extra day off on the anniversary of when you started, because your journey with us is worth celebrating. Our Thrive wellbeing program runs all year and is designed to support every aspect of wellbeing. Mental, physical, and social through education, resources, and practical initiatives.
We’re committed to helping you grow, both personally and professionally, and we’re driving a tech roadmap that’s shaping a data-led future. There are plenty of ways to get involved too, with cross-organisational working groups such as Reconciliation, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainability.
And that’s just the start. You’ll also find an active social club run by employees, end-of-trip facilities, and a centrally located modern office designed for collaboration. We’re also proud to be recently accredited as a Menopause Friendly Australia employer, because creating an inclusive workplace matters to us!

Established in 1907, C&K is proud to be the largest and longest established provider of community based early childhood education and care services in Queensland.
Our philosophy, where children come first, emphasises the fact that for C&K the interests of children are paramount. Any profits generated from our services are returned to benefit children and the community.
We are committed to providing quality education and care for your child’s pre-schooling years (from birth to school age) in an environment − both inside and outside − that enables children to explore, satisfy their natural curiosity and grow as individuals. Independent research indicates that children who have enjoyed a C&K early learning experience are the most successful in their first years of schooling.
Over the last century hundreds of thousands of Queensland children and parents have become part of the C&K family. As a community based association we recognise the valuable role families and the wider community play in children’s education and care.
