About the Role
As part of a fast-paced team, you will provide a full range of administrative support to the Radiology Department as required in accordance with the policies, procedures and values of St Vincent’s Health. Including reception, patient accounts, bookings, result distribution and audio typing.
o Reception duties, answering telephone, email and fax enquiries
o Efficient patient scheduling enabling maximal utilisation of equipment and staff
o Accurate data entry of patient and study information
o Registration of patient arrival and discharge
o Peripheral administration tasks to ensure a productive and efficient workflow
o Processing payments and assisting senior team with accounts tasks
o Accurate and timely medical audiotyping of dictated reports
o Distribution of medical results and access enquiries from referrers
Classifications for this position will range from HS1 - HS17 ($58,442 - $63,138 per annum)
Your Contribution
o VCE or equivalent
o Previous experience in medical administration (desired)
o High degree of computer literacy
o Customer service and multi-tasking experience
o Knowledge of medical terminology (desired)
o Demonstrated abilities in working in a fast-paced environment
o Professional telephone and reception skills
o Previous experience in invoicing/receipting
o A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History heck, or willing to obtain

The Medical Imaging Department is a busy imaging department providing a wide range of diagnostic and procedural imaging services to inpatients and outpatients of SVHM. LOCAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a busy imaging department providing a wide range of diagnostic and procedural imaging services to inpatients and outpatients of SVHM. The department operates across several locations within the Fitzroy campus, with the main area on the ground floor of the Inpatient Services Building. Modalities includes CT, ultrasound, angiography, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy and general x-ray.
St Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) is a business unit of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Imaging services are provided to a number of patients, including inpatients from St Vincent’s Private Hospital and patients from the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. SVPR provides a range of modalities including general x-ray, CT, DEXA, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine and ultrasound.
The MRI Department consists of three scanners and provides services to public and private hospital inpatients, outpatients and GP referrals. MRI services are also provided to the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. The services operate extended hours and on weekends.
The PET/CT department consists of a single PET scanner with multiple uptake rooms that services predominately outpatients but also public and private inpatients. Activity has increased steadily over the past three years and expansion of this service will likely occur to keep up with demand.
POSITION PURPOSE
As part of a fast-paced team, you will provide a full range of administrative support to the Radiology Department as required in accordance with the policies, procedures and values of St Vincent’s Health, including but not limited to reception, patient accounts, bookings, result distribution and audio typing.
POSITION DUTIES
o Reception duties, answering telephone and email queries.
o Projecting imaging’s caring, professional image to patients and referring clinicians.
o Registration of patient arrival for their examination along with peripheral tasks to ensure an efficient and speedy passage through the department.
o Telephone enquiries and direction of calls to the appropriate areas of the department when necessary.
o Advising Administrative Manager of supply shortages.
o Processing payments and assisting senior team with accounts tasks.
o Accurate and timely medical audio typing of dictated reports.
o Distribution of verified reports by phone, fax, courier or electronically.
