• Responsible for the overall effective and efficient delivery of radiology operations and services across the enterprise. Partners with Chief/Chair Radiologist and other stakeholders to develop and refine the radiology programs and services to ensure alignment with the organizational initiatives and objectives. • Maintains a “success is never final” perspective. Continually seeks out ways to improve or enhance services and processes. Provides sincere consideration and timely follow up to customer concerns and suggestion for improvement. Utilizes resources (Industry and technical, Studer, Press Ganey, etc.) to maximize results.• Creates and maintains a culture of excellent service through span of control by ensuring leadership must-haves are in place and staff follow the Cooper experience standards consistently.• Continually monitors metrics and makes adjustments to maximize efficiency and utilization, patient access, patient experience, patient and employee safety, quality outcomes, financial outcomes and overall effectiveness and impact of department. Has and utilizes a comprehensive radiology dashboard. • Maintains a constant state of readiness and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Active plans in place to address any deficiencies. Stays current with new regulations and best practices and prepares department and staff accordingly• Collaborates with AVP, Institute and physician leaders, as well as Joint Venture partners to understand growth plans and other expected changes that ultimately impact radiology. Plans accordingly so radiology services can be flexible to meet future needs of patient and the organization.• Responsible for recruiting, retaining, and developing a high-performing radiology leadership team. Invests in continuing education and development, develops bench strength to support effective succession planning. • Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops viable solutions for success. • Works collaboratively with RIS/PACS and Information System support to optimize systems.• Communicates effectively with all stakeholders, cascades information appropriately, communicates with a purpose and with consideration.
At least 5 years experience as a radiology department head, 10+ years experience preferred. • Require understanding of all imaging modalities for inpatient and outpatient markets.• Experience working with budgets, expense management, and revenue cycle.• Experience with strategic radiology planning, equipment fleet management, and business development.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in related health care field or business preferredGraduate of AMA approved school for Radiologic Technology required
ARRT – preferredCRA – preferred at hire or to be achieved within 12 months of hire
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the critical issues that impact radiology practice on a national and regional scale
Leader capable of developing programs and structures to maximize clinical quality and safety, employee and physician engagement.
