Adjuster- Lifestyle Claims

PRIMARYPURPOSE AMulti-Linesclaims adjuster is charged with the investigation,evaluationand quantification of an insuranceclaim The adjuster willdetermineand provide recommendations with respect to coverage,liabilityand quantum, within the terms of the policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managesadjustsassigned claims while meeting company standards and quality, including conducting thorough investigations;determiningcoverage and validity of claims,interviewingand communicating with insured,claimantsandwitnesses;,assigning external vendors asrequired,recommendations for reserves,preparing reports and negotiating settlementswithin granted authority

  • Maintainsaccuraterecords based on company standards and procedures, using company custom computer systemsWill require the ability to work in external client systems.

  • Accurately and efficiently manages the billing for assigned files, within specified timelines

  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with existing clients to further develop businessand willparticipateasrequiredin client file reviews and audits

  • Requiresa high levelof mathematical and reasoning ability to calculate and analyze data to arrive at a logical conclusion

  • Committed to continuous education to keepup-to-datewith all industry and legislative issues and changesand licensing requirements.

  • Responsiblefor ensuringreserves, coding and reportingareup to date on claims files assigned

  • Positivelyimpactcustomer experience by focusing on achieving positive Net Promoter Score

  • Identifiesthe need and co-ordination of task assignmentsutilizingfieldadjusters

  • Reviews and interprets policy wording to confirm and apply coverage oflosses

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

  • Post-secondary education

  • Has or is working toward CIP designation

  • Must be licensed orhave the ability toobtain a provisionallicense

  • Proven adjusting and negotiatingskills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and computerproficiency

Experience

  • Proven adjusting and negotiating skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and computerproficiency

  • Commercial andcondoclaim experience is anasset

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of insurance,claimsor business management

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products and Excel

  • Ability to navigate and work in clientrequiredancillary systems

  • Ability to work ina remote/home office environment

  • Analytical and interpretive skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict anddifficultsituations

Compensation Information:

Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 CAD annually

This position is full time and compensation is salaried. Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Sedgwick is committed to transparent and equitable pay practices.
