Course Description

This course features a study of the philosophical and religious theories and principles used in approaching ethical problems, with particular attention to the Christian ethical tradition. The focus of the course will be on the ethical challenges of the contemporary world, including those in the student's field of concentration. Stress will be placed on skill development in ethical reflection and analysis.

(Instructor has the freedom to construct a syllabus and decide on course content in consultation with department Chair, so long as course description and outcomes are unchanged.)

• Ensuring appropriate pedagogical design, implementation, and assessment of the course
• Providing timely feedback to students and hold office hours at least 2 hours/week (this can be done via Zoom)
• Please Note: Adjunct instructors are NOT expected to attend school or department meetings (though they are welcome to), conduct academic advising, or serve on standing committees.

Qualifications

Requirements

• An advanced degree (PhD preferred but not required) in a discipline related to ethics, the humanities, religious studies, or philosophy
• At least two years teaching experience
• At least two references

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Normal classroom environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.

Compensation

• Master’s degree–prepared candidate: $3,481.62 per course
• Doctoral degree–prepared candidate: $3,700.62 per course
