Job Location Regis College Campus - Weston, MA 02493 Position Type Adjunct

The Department of Health and Fitness Studies at Regis College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Spring 2026 semester for a physical activity course entitled, Intermediate Strength Training. This is one of the physical activity class offerings designed to increase student knowledge of the importance of being physically active for lifetime wellness and to provide them with skills to engage in various activities. This course provides instruction and practice in performing intermediate level strength training safely and effectively. Students also gain increased knowledge of the muscular system, strength training principles, and safety in the weight room. The course is a requirement for Exercise Science majors but is open to all students at the university.

It is a 15-week course that begins on January 20th and runs through the spring semester. The course is taught in person on the Weston campus twice a week for 50 minutes per session.

The course outline is available for the instructor. The course is currently scheduled Monday & Wednesday at 9:00-9:50 am.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach PE 203N Intermediate Strength Training, an in-person physical activity course
  • Engage with all responsibilities associated with teaching: content preparation, grading, office hours, student engagement, academic assessment, etc.
  • Meet with program director periodically to discuss content, student progress, challenges, etc.



Qualifications

Qualified Candidates Must Possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field
  • Past strength coaching experience; NSCA – CSCS certification preferred
  • Evidence of prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
  • Ability to collaborate with other faculty
  • Ability to utilize technology necessary for teaching including but not limited to: Office 365, Moodle, library and other online resources

Working Conditions/Physical Demands*:

  • Ability to perform all duties necessary for instructing, demonstrating, and spotting strength training activities
  • Ability to interact with students in the weight room as they participate in activities
  • Ability to utilize technology necessary for teaching, grading and communication with students



Compensation:
$2,160 per course
