
NYU Tandon's Department of Technology, Culture and Society is seeking an adjunct instructor for DM-UY 4173: Professional Practices for Creatives, a 3-credit course for upper-level undergraduates (junior/senior standing) in the Integrated Design and Media Program.
Course Overview
This course equips students with the practical skills and professional savvy needed to launch a career in creative fields. Topics include documenting and presenting creative work, self-promotion, exhibiting work in public and online contexts, networking, and general career preparation.
Applicants should have:
Active professional experience in a creative field (design, digital media, art, or related industry)
Demonstrated success in building and sustaining a creative career, including self-promotion and exhibition experience
Prior teaching, mentoring, or workshop-facilitation experience preferred
Strong communication skills and genuine interest in supporting students' professional development

Format: In-person at 370 Jay St, Brooklyn
Schedule: Tuesdays/Thursdays 6:00 PM - 7:50 PM
Compensation is in accordance with NYU's bargaining agreement with ACT-UAW Local 7902.
A completed graduate degree (Masters, PhD) or a college degree (BS, BA, BFA) and ten years of relevant professional experience will be considered.
