Lyon College invites applications for a dynamic, dedicated, and student-centered
Adjunct Instructor of Communication Studies to teach remotely or in person. We seek
an educator who is passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduates within a
rigorous liberal arts framework.
The selected instructor will be responsible for teaching courses that may include:
Communication and Technology
Media Law
Organizational and Small Group Communication
Other upper-level communication courses based on instructor expertise
Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned undergraduate Communication
courses.
Foster an inclusive, engaging, and intellectually stimulating classroom
environment.
Maintain regular, scheduled office hours to support student success.
Provide constructive feedback and timely grading on student coursework.
Education: Master's degree or higher in Communication Studies, Journalism,
Broadcasting, or a closely related field.
Teaching Experience: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate
level.
Mentorship: A strong commitment to student advising, mentorship, and
supporting undergraduate academic development.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Pedagogy: Familiarity with, and commitment to, liberal arts education and its
student-centered pedagogical approaches.
