Howard Community College ( HCC) is looking for experienced and passionate instructors to teach adaptive classes for our Inclusive Learning Programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ( IDD). We are a continuing education program that allows adults of all ages with IDD to maintain or build on their skills and knowledge in a supportive and welcoming environment. This is an on-site, part-time adjunct position.

Essential Role Responsibilities
Prepare and teach age and developmentally appropriate lessons centered around practical, real-life topics.
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a respect for differences.
Respond to issues professionally and with an understanding of how disabilities affect learning and behavior.
Collaborate with other instructors and administrators to maintain consistency throughout the program.
Teaching experience, including experience planning lessons and developing curriculum for whole-group instruction
Experience working with adults with IDD, or a strong desire to learn best practices for working with this population
