Job Description

The Department of Physics at Duquesne University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach in person a section of algebra-based general physics for undergraduate students with majors predominantly in the health and life sciences. Openings available for fall 2025 and beyond.

Responsibilities:

•Teach one section of the course per semester in person.

•Develop and deliver engaging lectures.

•Assess student performance through assignments and exams.

•Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students.

•Collaborate with department faculty to ensure curriculum alignment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Degree in a STEM discipline.

Experience teaching general physics at college or AP high-school level.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Enthusiasm for working with students with no previous exposure to physics.

Preferred Attributes:

Familiarity with applications of physics to health is a plus.
