Job Description
The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Albright College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty/Course Facilitators to teach graduate-level courses in Special Education in a 7.5-week, fully online asynchronous format. Appointments may be made as Adjunct Faculty or Course Facilitators based on course needs and the instructional model. SPS serves adult learners through flexible, career-relevant programs designed to support academic and professional success.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging graduate-level Special Education courses in an asynchronous online environment using a course blueprint model
- Provide timely, substantive feedback on student work
- Connect course concepts to current practices and challenges in K-12 special education settings
- Support critical thinking, applied learning, and professional skill development
- Maintain an active and consistent instructional presence
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for adult learners
Qualifications
- Certification as a Special Education teacher, preferably in Pennsylvania
- Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field required; earned doctorate preferred
- Experience teaching special education in K-12 school settings
- Experience teaching in online, accelerated, asynchronous formats preferred
- Familiarity with D2L Brightspace is preferred
- Comfort using experiential and applied learning strategies within a pre-designed course
- Strong communication, feedback, and student engagement skills
