The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition courses, with an emphasis on nutritional biochemistry. Responsibilities include developing curriculum plans to enhance student learning, facilitating class discussions, ensuring student engagement, maintaining class records, and assessing student coursework. Collaboration with colleagues on research interests and co-curricular activities is also expected. The candidate will typically report to the department chair.
The Department of Health Sciences in the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) at Zayed University (ZU) offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to meet the UAE's expanding needs in the field of nutrition and public health. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Health Nutrition aims to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to promote health through effective nutrition strategies, focusing on the prevention of diet-related diseases and the improvement of community well-being. This high-quality program is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN). The Department also offers a Master of Science (MS) in Human Nutrition.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Nutritional Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences, or a closely related field, recognized by the UAE's Ministry of Education. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellent teaching and will be expected to teach both introductory and advanced-level courses. While adjunct positions primarily focus on teaching, there may also be opportunities to participate in research within the department. Candidates should be adaptable and demonstrate versatility, forward thinking, and innovative approaches to engaging students in the classroom.
