
The Opportunity
The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises seeks qualified candidates to teach as adjuncts in Art History. These positions will be based at the Abu Dhabi or Dubai campus, with appointments beginning in August 2026.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate/s will make a valuable contribution to the development of the program in the College by forging strong relationships and liaising with local industry, as well as supporting an integrated approach of the curriculum. The candidate/s will encourage students to consider their future careers within a local, regional and international context and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to take up this challenge.
About the College
The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with majors in Animation Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Visual Art; a professional degree Bachelor of Architecture; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Design with the College of Communication and Media Sciences and the College of Technological Innovation.
The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries. Its mission is to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national initiatives in the culture of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and initiatives of the College that advocate innovative practices and research.
About Art History
Art history teaching in CACE supports Animation Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Visual Arts, and Multimedia Design. Course offerings include introductory surveys, histories of visual culture, history of Islamic art and architecture, and upper-level electives in design history, curatorial practice, contemporary art theory, history of animation, and related areas.

The applicant must have earned a terminal degree in Art History, Visual Culture, Design History, or a closely related field (PhD preferred).
The applicant must have a record of excellent teaching and/or scholarly trajectory in the field and in alignment with the College’s vision.
Candidates need to have specific academic or professional experience to be able to teach one or more of the following subjects:
Candidates should be able to teach both introductory surveys and more specialized upper-level courses.
Understanding of the local and regional context within a global framework, with reference to pedagogy, is highly desirable.
Candidates with teaching or research experience in art and design histories of the Arab world or the broader region are preferred.
Classes will be taught in person, and selected candidates must be in the UAE and have a valid UAE visa (the position will not provide sponsorship). Applicants are responsible for securing and maintaining their own visa status. Remote teaching opportunities are not available for these roles.
