Job Description

American University’s School of Public Affairs is currently seeking qualified individuals residing in Maryland, Virginia, or DC to teach and enrich its course offerings in its undergraduate and Masters programs. We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach a wide array of courses in the Department of Government including but not limited to the following: Introduction to Applied Political Data Science, Applied Politics and American Public Policy, and Elections and Voting Behavior.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a doctoral degree and/or has extensive professional experience in the relevant area of expertise. A Master’s degree and extensive relevant professional experience may also be acceptable. Prior teaching experience is preferred though not required. Course assignments will be contingent on student demand and course schedules. If hired, adjunct faculty are limited to teaching no more than two courses per semester, up to a maximum of four courses per year.
