Additive manufacturing is transforming what’s possible—and at Emerson’s Global Additive Technology Center, we’re pushing those boundaries every day. We’re looking for an Additive Materials and Process Engineer who is energized by innovation, motivated by complex technical challenges, and excited to help shape the future of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L PBF) across Emerson’s global businesses.

As part of this global team, you’ll lead the development of new material and process capabilities, as well as provide technical guidance in the field of metallurgical engineering, and input into equipment selection and processing changes as the program matures and increases in scale.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Develop roadmap for taking new materials into production.
• Lead parameter development for new or existing materials to ensure required mechanical properties, microstructure, composition, and density.
• Develop and maintain internal standards related to material property requirements.
• Participate in and represent Emerson on codes & standards committees such as ASTM, ASME, API, and NACE as they relate to additive manufacturing.
• Develop and test prototypes, working hands‑on in the Additive Technology Lab.
• Support production with material non-conformance analysis and disposition.
• Collaborate on printer efficiency, including gas flow effectiveness, machine settings and variables, and scanning strategies.
• Support the global organization with failure analysis and supplier qualification.
• Constant review for Additive Technology breakthroughs within the broad industry to ensure that the program is current on capabilities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• BS in Materials Engineering or related field with a materials focus
• 3-5 years of Additive Manufacturing experience
• Experience with build prep software such as 3DXpert
• Documentation, organization, and project management skills
• Clear, effective communication, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations and give tours
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology
• Self-motivated, self-sufficient, and capable of working with teams with competing interests and priorities, in different countries
• Strong collaboration skills
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Master’s degree is preferred.
