Priory Hospital Roehampton, a registered hospital in London, is a welcoming and highly respected rehab facility, offering expert mental health and addiction treatment.

We support people facing a wide range of mental health challenges, providing specialist care for depression, anxiety and addictions. Our team offers tailored treatment for substance addictions, including alcohol, cocaine and heroin, as well as behavioural addictions like gambling. You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As an Addictions Therapist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy individually and in structured group formats aligned with the ATP model.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, contribute to treatment planning, and provide ongoing therapeutic support for clients on the step-down programme.
  • Collaborate with the Move-On Programme team to facilitate appropriate continuing care and aftercare.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and risk assessments, identifying and escalating safeguarding or clinical risks as needed.
  • Participate actively in clinical reviews, handovers, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure holistic client care.
You can find additional information in the attached job description.

What you'll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Essential requirements for this role include a recognized professional therapy qualification such as BACP, UKCP, HCPC, or an equivalent certification, alongside a degree in Counselling, Psychotherapy, or a related field. Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience working in addiction treatment or a recovery-based setting, with proven experience in delivering group therapy and managing group dynamics. They must demonstrate the ability to conduct thorough clinical assessments and manage risk effectively, as well as possess a strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and co-occurring mental health conditions. Additionally, current professional registration, up-to-date insurance, and an enhanced DBS check—or willingness to undergo one—are required.
