Job Overview

Location/Schedule: This position is located at our Plaza Health Center in SE Portland. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. The schedule for this position could change due to program needs.

Position Description: Cascadia Health is seeking a compassionate Addiction and Recovery Counselor to join our team. In this essential role, you will provide individualized addiction services and support to clients on their recovery journey, using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting health and recovery.

General

• Conducting thorough Addiction Assessments to understand client needs.
• Integrating best practices such as Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing into your daily work.
• Developing and implementing personalized service plans for clients.
• Coaching clients in setting and achieving their own goals.
• Evaluating and adjusting treatment plans to ensure their effectiveness.
• Facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions, relapse prevention plans, and family/support person sessions.
• Collaborating with internal and external resources to provide the best possible care.
• Assisting in crisis situations and supporting a Trauma Informed Care Environment.

Qualifications

Education:

Required:

• Addiction and Recovery Counselor II: CADCI, or CADCII.
• Knowledge of culturally specific services
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and evidence based practices
• Understanding of Recovery Model
• Operate computer programs and systems at a level needed to perform the essential duties
• Be able to prepare simple reports

Preferred:

• Experience with clients involved in the Child Welfare System, gender-specific populations, and the criminal justice system.
• Knowledge of strength-based case management, trauma-informed services, and recovery models.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Familiarity with DBT and Seeking Safety curriculum for men and women.
