Job Duties:

  • Provide Comprehensive Assessments for clients being admitted and/or providing
  • Comprehensive Assessments prior to admission for people placed with NBH by a Placing Authority.
  • Document services provided in a weekly note, individual note, and/or information note.
  • Documentation will be completed according to NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
  • Document case activity notes and important information.
  • Complete and document assessments in accordance with NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
  • Provide court, Department of Corrections, and other referral sources with information based on the outcome of assessments completed
  • Work cooperatively with outside agencies.
  • Exhibits knowledge of core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the assigned supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be qualified as an alcohol and drug counselor according to MN Statute 245G.11 subd 5
  • Bachelor degree
  • Must have 1 or more years providing chemical dependency counseling (supervised internship

applies)

  • CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
  • Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy
  • Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
  • Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable driving record Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills

Northstar Behavioral Health believes we can help people affected by opioid addiction to identify and achieve goals that will help improve their lives. The primary goal and objective of the Northstar Behavioral Health residential treatment program we have developed is to reduce harms associated with illicit drug use by providing access to Suboxone, Buprenorphine, and Methadone, counseling, and access to other community-based services within our facility. Our vision is to improve the health and wellness of opioid dependent persons by providing an accessible service, which in turn will help them return to being a productive member of the community. We are a group of compassionate, client-centered, caring individuals who understand the epidemic that is Heroin and opioid addiction. We will treat those individuals in our facility through a friendly, genuine, empathetic, respectful, non-judgmental, reflective, and supportive approach to opioid treatment.
