Position Purpose


Lead and manage all
vehicle-level ADAS/ADS testing activities

, from test planning and strategy development to managing the engineering/operator team and ensuring quality, schedule, and budget targets are achieved.


Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant
ISO/SOTIF/Euro NCAP standards

, support homologation documentation, and provide robust and compelling evidence to key stakeholders, including
regulatory authorities, the Safety Board, and senior management

.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Test Planning:

    Develop long-term test plans (1–3 years), define testing phases, milestones, and gate criteria aligned with the expanding
    ODD roadmap

    and
    Robotaxi deployment timeline

    .

  • People Management:

    Manage a team of 10–15 members, including
    Senior Test Engineers, Junior Test Engineers, Data Analysts, Safety Operators

    , and other supporting roles. Responsibilities include recruitment, training, performance management, mentoring, and building a strong, high-performing team.

  • Budget & Resource Management:

    Manage the allocated testing budget, including equipment, software licenses, infrastructure, training, and travel expenses. Monitor costs and resource plans and recommend adjustments when necessary.

  • Gate Reviews & Pass/Fail Criteria:

    Lead release gate review meetings, review test pass/fail rates, and determine whether the system is ready to progress to the next phase or requires additional testing.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    Work closely with
    EE, Software, and Functional Safety teams

    to align on testing requirements, define failure modes, and update the Safety Case when necessary.

  • Reporting & Stakeholder Updates:

    Prepare and present testing progress reports to management and other stakeholders; explain test results, risks, and recommended next steps.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Engagement:

    Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements across
    EU, China, the US, Vietnam

    , and other relevant homologation standards. Work with Legal/Regulatory teams to prepare documentation, witness tests, and certification activities with independent authorities.

  • Process & Documentation Development:

    Develop and maintain test scenarios, test guidelines, and testing procedures to ensure consistency, facilitate knowledge transfer to new team members, and support audits.

  • Quality Assurance & Issue Tracking:

    Monitor the quality and reliability of test results, investigate the root causes of failures/incidents, recommend corrective actions, and track their implementation.


Requirements


Mandatory Requirements


  • Professional Experience:

    Minimum
    5–7 years of experience in ADAS/ADS system testing

    , particularly at
    SAE Level 2, 3, or 4

    , including at least
    2–3 years in a management or team leadership role

    .

  • ADS System Knowledge:

    Strong understanding of
    ADAS/ADS systems

    , hardware/software architecture, sensor fusion, path planning, decision logic, and Minimal Risk Maneuver (MRM) modes.

  • Standards & Regulations:

    Strong knowledge of international testing and safety standards, including
    ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ISO 34502, ISO 22737, Euro NCAP, UN GTR ADS draft

    , or equivalent standards, with the ability to apply them effectively in real-world projects.

  • Project Management:

    Proven experience planning large-scale testing projects involving
    multiple phases and sites

    , managing timelines, risks, and regulatory requirements. Strong understanding of automotive product development processes, including
    ASPICE, V-Model, and Waterfall methodologies

    .

  • Driving & Real-world Application:

    Hold a valid driver's license and have extensive real-world driving experience, with a strong understanding of ADAS/ADS behavior in real-world environments, including
    edge cases and safety risks

    .

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or higher in
    Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science

    , or a related engineering/technical management discipline.


Additional Requirements


  • Project Management Certification:

    PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is an advantage.

  • Homologation Experience:

    Experience participating in at least one
    homologation cycle or witness test

    with an international certification/testing authority such as
    DEKRA, TÜV, CATARC

    , etc., is an advantage.

  • Functional Safety & SOTIF:

    Experience with
    Safety Case development, ISO 26262 Functional Safety assessments

    , or
    SOTIF analysis

    .

  • English Communication:

    Strong English communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior management and international teams.

  • Automotive/Technology Project Management:

    Experience managing projects in the
    automotive industry or a technology startup of comparable scale

    , with strong experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Leadership & Vision:

    Ability to establish a clear vision and objectives for the testing team, contribute to the
    Robotaxi program

    , and assess the potential impact of testing decisions on end users.

  • People Management:

    Strong capabilities in recruiting, training, mentoring, performance evaluation, team building, and talent retention in a fast-paced, high-pressure startup environment.

  • Communication & Presentation:

    Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders, including
    management, legal, and regulatory teams

    ; produce clear reports and deliver compelling presentations.

  • Decision-Making & Trade-offs:

    Ability to evaluate different options, balance technical, safety, cost, and schedule considerations, and make timely decisions.

  • Risk Management:

    Ability to proactively identify risks in the testing plan, develop mitigation/action plans, monitor progress, and adjust the testing strategy when required.
