Title: Adaptive Physical Education Teacher - District Wide

Qualifications

1. Licensed in Massachusetts as a Teacher of Physical Education
2. Master's Degree Preferred
3. Previous successful teaching experience
4. Experience with adaptive physical education and/or working with students with special needs
5. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications

General Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this position should be able to instruct effectively in the program of physical education and adapt lessons for students with special needs. He or she should understand the importance of providing access for all students to physical education and related activities. He or she should possess an understanding of the special education eligibility process and procedures, particularly as they relate to adaptive physical education. He or she should also possess the ability to be flexible, imaginative, and creative in order to provide interesting and meaningful opportunities for students.

Salary: $60,253 - $113,226 pro-rated

Based on training and experience according to the current salary schedule as negotiated by Unit A of the Methuen Education Association.
