SuperAwesome is seeking an Ad Operations Manager to drive the execution of our paid media campaigns. This role sits at the heart of our campaign lifecycle, balancing global delivery with a strong focus on yield and performance across web and app environments.
As an Ad Operations Manager, you will manage programmatic campaigns from setup to completion, taking accountability for delivering on what has been promised to our clients. We are looking for a natural problem-solver who applies critical thinking to everyday challenges and is passionate about finding smarter ways to work. You will act as a key operational partner to Account Management, Sales, Product, and Engineering, driving results with rigour and a passion for the programmatic kid-safe ecosystem.
End-to-End Ownership: Execute the testing, pacing, and delivery of managed campaigns buying programmatically (using platforms like Beeswax and Google Ads).
Yield Management: Monitor and manage campaign performance and delivery, ensuring we hit client KPIs while maintaining financial margin and gross profit goals.
Responsive Optimisation: Monitor daily campaign pacing and performance; proactively identify when a strategy is no longer effective, call out when things go wrong, and pivot to apply effective, data-driven solutions.
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving
Critical Problem Solving: Act as the first line of defense for campaign issues. Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot ad tech nuances, ad format capabilities, and programmatic delivery issues, looking beyond surface-level symptoms to find root causes.
Process Improvement & Automation: Proactively identify manual, repetitive tasks within your day-to-day workflows. Bring fresh ideas to the table and collaborate on department projects aimed at automating and streamlining Ad Ops infrastructure.
Cross-Functional Testing: Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to test new ad tech features, marketplace connections, publishers, and verification partners.
Sales & AM Support: Partner with Account Managers to translate client briefs into actionable campaign setups. Provide operational input and inventory forecasting to the Sales team for upcoming proposals.
Constructive Partnership: Invest in building trust with all colleagues. Work to agreed goals and deal with challenges in a responsive, constructive way when interfacing with external vendors or internal teams.
Experience: 2–3 years of experience in digital ad operations, with hands-on experience focused on programmatic advertising.
Programmatic Proficiency: Strong experience trading or managing campaigns within major DSPs (e.g., DV360, The Trade Desk, or Beeswax), understanding standard optimisation levers and their impact.
Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: A naturally inquisitive and analytical mindset. You don't just follow the steps; you ask why, and you have a strong aptitude for untangling complex operational issues.
Technical Toolkit: Strong working knowledge of VAST/HTML5 formats and experience working with 3rd party tag vendors (e.g., DCM, Innovid, Moat, IAS).
Data Fluency: High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to pull, manipulate, and interpret data to inform campaign optimizations.
Methodical Mindset: An obsessive eye for detail and a track record of delivering multiple complex projects from inception to completion.
Interpersonal Skills: Clear, collaborative communication skills, with the ability to explain technical operational concepts to non-technical stakeholders (like Sales and Account Management).
