Neurosurgeons at Mayo Clinic are on the leading edge of treating neurological conditions using the latest innovations and techniques in neurosurgery, such as minimally invasive surgery, robotics, intraoperative MRI, computer-assisted brain surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery, awake brain surgery, and deep brain stimulation. The Department of Neurosurgery in Arizona has an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant (NP PA) to join their team.
The NP PA works cooperatively with physicians, NPs, PAs, nurses, and other allied health personnel to deliver care to Neurosurgical patients in the inpatient and outpatient
settings.
The Acute Care NP or PA performs the following tasks:
100% of days worked will require the NP PA’s presence on the hospital campus. A mixture of Floor, Clinic, OR, and On call overnight or weekends or holidays.
(Working 5 days one week and 4 days the following week basically one random day off during the week)
During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.
New Grads will not be considered at this time. 2-5 years of NPPA experience is preferred.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a ACNP. Current RN First Assist (RNFA) certification is required at the time of application; candidates must already possess this certification to be considered.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.

Mayo Clinic was founded in Rochester, Minnesota by brothers Dr. William James Mayo and Dr. Charles Horace Mayo. More than 100 years later, their vision continues to evolve around a single guiding value: "The needs of the patient come first." Today we are the largest integrated, not for-profit medical group practice in the world.
We are recognized for high-quality patient care more than any other academic medical center in the nation. These endorsements are very gratifying, but also humbling. They remind us of the tradition that has been entrusted to each one of us, and the legacy of excellence that we uphold every day.
