
The Acute Care advanced practice provider in this position will work on our inpatient general cardiology and post-procedure teams. Common diagnoses encountered on our general cardiology service include acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmia, and pericarditis. Our post procedure service takes care of patients after interventional and electrophysiology procedures.
The role entails 12 hour shifts and does occasionally include nights, holidays, and weekend coverage. At this time, this is usually 1-2 weekends per month, 1-2 major holiday per year, and up to 3 night shifts per month. As this is a teaching hospital, you will work alongside an attending physician, cardiology fellows, and internal medicine residents on the services, as well as occasional medical school and advanced practice provider students.

During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.
New Grads who have completed a 1-year Cardiology Fellowship will be considered. Prefer 2 years of APP or Fellowship inpatient cardiology experience.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
