A Brief Overview
Operates MRI equipment and performs MRI procedures in a hospital setting by performing the following duties.

Experience Qualifications

  • 1 year MRI experience. Preferred


Licenses and Certifications

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging - MRI - ARRT Preferred
  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
  • Radiography - ARRT Required


What you will do

  • Perform MRI procedures by preparing and positioning patient for diagnostic imaging procedures including high acuity ICU, ED, Stroke and Trauma patients.
  • Assists radiologist in examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Prepare patients with pacemakers for MRI exams including assisting with placing the patient in SafeScan mode for patient safety.
  • Assist Anesthesiologist when performing MRI exams on sedated patients by setting up anesthesia machine and monitors.
  • Maintain knowledge of MRI Compatible IV pumps to transfer meds prior to moving patient into scan room.
  • Measures and administers contrast media.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
  • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Performs office work including, but not limited to, answering phone, filing, obtaining information from computer, typing cards to stamp films, and ordering departmental supplies.
  • Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
