About the Role

We are supporting a leading UAE insurance organisation in the appointment of an Actuary to join its actuarial team based in Abu Dhabi.

This role is exclusively open to Emirati / UAE Nationals and represents an excellent opportunity for an actuarial professional to develop their career within a recognised and established insurance environment.

The successful candidate will provide actuarial support across pricing, reserving, financial modelling, portfolio analysis and regulatory reporting, working closely with underwriting, finance, risk and senior management.

Candidates who are part-qualified or fully qualified FIA will have a distinct advantage, although candidates progressing towards another recognised actuarial qualification will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Actuarial Analysis

• Undertake actuarial analysis across insurance portfolios and business lines.
• Analyse claims, premium and exposure data to identify trends and emerging risks.
• Produce clear actuarial reports and management information.

Reserving

• Support the calculation and review of technical provisions and claims reserves.
• Undertake reserve adequacy and loss-development analysis.
• Assist with quarterly and annual actuarial reporting requirements.

Pricing & Portfolio Management

• Support the development and review of pricing models and methodologies.
• Analyse portfolio profitability, claims experience and underwriting performance.
• Provide actuarial input into product and portfolio decisions.

Financial & Capital Modelling

• Assist with actuarial forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling.
• Support capital, solvency and stress-testing activities where required.
• Provide actuarial insight to support business planning and decision-making.

Regulatory & Reporting

• Support actuarial submissions and reporting in line with UAE regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate actuarial documentation, models and supporting data.
• Contribute to internal, external and regulatory actuarial reviews.

Business Support

• Work closely with underwriting, finance, claims and risk teams.
• Translate actuarial analysis into practical commercial recommendations.
• Support senior actuarial management on projects and strategic initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must be an Emirati / UAE National.
• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant actuarial experience within insurance or financial services preferred.
• Part-qualified or fully qualified FIA is an advantage.
• Candidates studying towards FIA or another recognised international actuarial qualification are encouraged to apply.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Good understanding of insurance principles, actuarial methodologies and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with actuarial modelling or data-analysis tools would be advantageous.

The position would particularly suit an Emirati actuary at an early-to-mid career stage who is progressing through professional actuarial examinations and looking for increased exposure, responsibility and long-term career development.
