Job Description

Coverys is looking for an Actuarial Co-op to support our Pricing & Analytics team. The position entails analyzing insurance premium, claim, and exposure information in developing actuarial analyses. This position will also perform market and competitor research to supplement our analysis when data is lacking.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare premium, claim and exposure data for actuarial analysis.
• Work with Excel templates and running SQL and Tableau queries.
• Pull competitor rate filings, summarizing, and integrating with our own data.
• Review market share and annual statement data.
• Review, research, and reconcile data from various sources.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Competencies

• Major in mathematics, science, programming, economics, or another quantitative field
• Experience with R, SQL, SAS, VBA, or Python are helpful, but not required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret and analyze various types of data
