Milliman in Madrid provides consulting services to a broad array of clients in the insurance sector. We are looking for interns to join our Non Life (P&C) team. This position provides excellent opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work on the technical and/or modeling aspects of a variety of consulting projects, including product and strategy development, economic valuation, mergers and acquisitions, Solvency II, ALM, and predictive modeling.
  • Work closely with a dynamic and highly experienced team of actuarial professionals within one of the world’s leading actuarial consulting firms.
  • Support consulting activities for clients in the Spanish and Portuguese insurance markets and contribute to a wide range of multinational projects.

What we look for

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate with major in Actuarial Science, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields are preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is a must. Other European languages (especially French and Portuguese) will be highly rated.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and database applications (Microsoft Office products)
  • R, SQL, SAS knowledge a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Results-driven and detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated and creative problem solver
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Skills & Attributes

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master in Actuarial Science or another program of study similarly focused on mathematics, and/or quantitative analysis.

Desired:

  • Proficiency in Excel and VBA. Knowledge of SAS, C++, C#, and other programming languages a plus
  • Ability to analyse and apply creative problem solving both independently and within a team
  • Self-motivated individual with a sense of intellectual curiosity and a results-oriented work ethic.
