Job Title: Activity/Transportation Assistant

FLSA Status: Nonexempt -12 month position Job Code: 6B ($16.24-$19.09-$21.93)/hour

Performs clerical duties and assists with school extra-curricular activities and transportation functions by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assists Activity/Transportation Director (A/T Director) and may represent the A/T Director in all aspects of the activities/transportation program in his/her absence.
2. Keeps current record and permanent records of all activity/transportation department information.
3. Composes, or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material. Compiles and files other school reports and records as necessary.
4. Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.
5. Answers telephone to provide information, takes message, or transfers calls to appropriate staff.
6. Distributes mail to coaches, staff and A/T Director.
7. Maintains a schedule of meetings and appointments for the A/T Director.
8. Performs clerical duties to include word processing, filing, running errands and other duties as required by the A/T Director.
9. Maintains calendar of school events.
10. Maintains high standard of professionalism (dress and conduct).
11. Conforms to the policies of the school, school rules and prescribed programs.
12. Exercises diligence in the care of school property.
13. Helps prepare check requests for the activities/transportation department.
14. Assists in securing workers and planning for all activities/transportation events as needed.
15. Monitors coaches’ compliance with 1st Aid, CPR, and clock hour certification requirements as per MHSA state rules and St. Labre expectations and rules.
16. Creates, distributes and updates all athletic/transportation schedules, programs and rosters.
17. Assists in preparing for each activity season parent meeting and end of school year assembly/banquet.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General working knowledge/experience with computers and other office equipment. Basic clerical skills required.

10. Ability to teach moral and spiritual values to youth. Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for students.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid Montana driver’s license
• St. Labre online Insurance driving course (after hired)
• First Aid & CPR certified or able to become certified OPI Driving School Certified (after hired)
• MHSA Certifications (as needed, after hired)
