About Us:

Christian Youth Camps Ltd (CYC), a mission of the Christian Community Churches of Victoria & Tasmania, is a Christian Not for Profit organisation, committed to the Christian Faith. We hire people from many different faith backgrounds, so being a Christian is not a requirement for the role.

CYC Adanac, set on 13 acres of parkland, natural bush, a recreational lake and magnificent views over the Yarra Ranges, is one of Victoria’s favourite group accommodation facilities for schools, churches and community groups. We are one of six CYC sites across VIC/TAS.

About the Job:

• Casual position
• Shifts vary between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on a rotating roster
• Immediate start
• Working With Children Check is required
• Average of 16-30 hrs per week, but can be higher in peak periods.
• On-the-job training

Key Tasks:

Reporting to the Head of Program, the Programmer’s main goal is to host large groups and ensure our guests enjoy challenging experiences by facilitating various outdoor and indoor activities. Tasks include:

• Welcoming and hosting groups
• Facilitating activities, e.g., archery, canoeing, flying fox
• Being the ‘go-to’ person for guests' needs throughout their stay
• Being responsible for allocated activity checks and maintenance
• Assisting in other departments as required (eg, kitchen or housekeeping)

About You:

• You align yourself with CYC's Motivation & Values
• You are teachable, friendly, enthusiastic and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• You are a fast mover and thinker, and enjoy working as part of a wider team
• You have a genuine passion for people and a commitment to going above and beyond.
• Previous experience in the outdoor recreation industry is an advantage.
• Level 2 First Aid (we can train you)
• Lifesaving Inland Waterways Certificate or equivalent (we can train you)
