Overview

The Activity Assistant performs duties involving the planning and implementation of activities which meet the needs of our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Activities Director in planning and carrying out a program of activities which meets the needs of the residents and will be made available to all residents.
  • Maintains documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Assists with activities inside and outside the facility to stimulate and promote resident interest and participation, such as special entertainment, special holiday events, and religious activities.
  • Assists in providing social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.
  • Encourages residents to participate in activities.
  • Works with volunteers in various activity programs.
  • Assists in planning and preparing the monthly activity calendar.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have a current Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record and proof of insurance. Must meet Driver Certification requirements.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate warmth, compassion and respect for older adults.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and creativity in planning activities.
  • Must be self-motivated, requiring minimum supervision.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification is preferred.
