Responsibilities

The Activities Supervisor oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities, ensuring they are engaging and meeting the needs of residents. This role provides direct supervision to activities staff and is responsible for developing and maintaining several monthly activity calendars, tailored for designated activity rooms, and ensuring consistent execution and documentation of activities. As an active participant in the facility's Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), the Activities Supervisor attends care plan conferences, IDT meetings, and committees, ensuring that residents have individualized activity plans in place and that participation is accurately documented. Through strong leadership and collaboration, this role plays a key part in enriching the resident experience and supporting the facility's overall quality of care.

Qualifications

Education• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field preferred Experience• One of the following is requiredo Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one year of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.o Be an occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, recreation therapist, or occupational therapy assistant.o Have satisfactorily completed at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the facility and shall receive regular consultation from an occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistant, or recreation therapist who has at least one year of experience in a health care setting. Licenses and Certifications• Certification/licensure as an Activity Professional, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), or Activity Director Certified (ADC) preferred
