The Pines at Placerville is looking for a Part-Time Activity Assistant to join our Activities team!

As an Activity Assistant, you’ll help create meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents through games, crafts, music, social events, outings, one-on-one activities, and more. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of the people we serve while working alongside a supportive team.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Activities Director in planning and leading engaging individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests, abilities, and preferences.
  • Help provide meaningful one-on-one activities for residents who may be unable to participate in group activities.
  • Assist with resident outings, special events, entertainment, and community activities.
  • Help develop and maintain the monthly activity calendar.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families while creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment.
  • Encourage residents to continue enjoying their favorite hobbies, crafts, reading, music, games, and other interests.
  • Assist with activity documentation, attendance records, assessments, and care plans as assigned.
  • Assist with arranging transportation for resident outings and appointments when needed.
  • Keep the Activities Department clean, organized, and ready for residents to enjoy.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to work with older adults.
  • Creative and energetic, with ideas for fun and meaningful activities.
  • Friendly and personable, with excellent communication skills.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable interacting with residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Able to encourage participation while respecting each resident’s individual preferences and choices.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience working in a skilled nursing, assisted living, senior living, healthcare, recreation, or activities setting is preferred, but we are happy to consider candidates who have the right attitude, personality, and desire to make a difference.

Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, and interacting with residents. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with various physical activities may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
