
Provides personal care assistance to participants in the center to ensure participation in programs which support cognitive, social, physical, and emotional skills. Assists with nursing care under the director of the Clinic Nurse Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Care: Listens and responds to concerns and questions. Completes all necessary and appropriate care, including toileting. Reports all concerns and changes to appropriate nursing staff.
Activities Provides input for participant activity planning and in care plan sessions. Assists client with appropriate activities by alternating between periods of strenuous activity and periods of rest or light activities to avoid overstimulation and/or fatigue. Follows infection control guidelines per policies and procedures.
Nutrition of Client: Involves assisting residents by providing them with all their nutritional needs. Portion, serve, and assist participants with breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout the day. Assists in kitchen clean-up process after each meal is served.
Professionalism: Involves maintaining a neat and clean appearance, the willingness to learn new concepts, accepting accountability for job performance, the ability to manage time effectively, and promoting compassion and understanding for the clients’ needs/wants.
Communications and Customer Service: Involves speaking with client, families and staff; with tact, diplomacy, and strong listening skills.
Attendance and Punctuality: Involves coming to work when assigned, clocking in and out time, checking the schedule and reporting for the assignment in a timely manner.
Safety for Self and Residents: Involves personal safety in all work, being alert, and watching out for the safety of the client.
Documentation: Completes required documentation after the completion of care. Filing
in the chart as required.
Organization: Completes care in a timely manner.
Continuing Education: Participates in all mandatory in-services and complies with federal and state training requirements.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and current CPR Certification.
