Job Description

Activities Assistant — Perrysburg, OH

Bring energy, creativity, and heart to the lives of our residents! We're looking for a compassionate, people-focused Activities Assistant to join our long-term care community in Perrysburg, OH. If you love brightening someone's day, planning fun events, and building genuine relationships, this could be the perfect role for you.

Starting wage: $16/hour Every other weekend and some week days

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll be part of a team that believes activities aren't just something to check off a schedule — they're what make each day meaningful for our residents. You'll plan outings, lead group games, help residents rediscover hobbies they love, and be a familiar, friendly face residents look forward to seeing.

What You'll Do

  • Help plan and lead individual, small-group, and large-group activities that residents genuinely enjoy
  • Build strong communication with residents, families, coworkers, and outside partners so everyone's needs are heard and met
  • Contribute ideas to the monthly activity calendar and help track attendance
  • Support quality improvement efforts alongside the Activities Director
  • Take part in discharge planning and help create personalized activity care plans
  • Coordinate transportation for resident outings, appointments, and discharges
  • Build a variety of engaging options each month — outings, group events, and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or isolated
  • Encourage residents to explore hobbies, crafts, and reading, and provide materials like Braille books or audiobooks as needed
  • Help with assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes
  • Keep the Activities Department clean, organized, and welcoming

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A year of experience in long-term care is a plus, but not required — we value the right attitude just as much as experience
  • Strong communication skills and comfort reading and following procedures and instructions
  • Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios)
  • Good problem-solving instincts and the ability to follow written, verbal, or scheduled instructions
  • Physical stamina: this is an active role with lots of standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

The Environment

A warm, low-to-moderate noise setting where your presence truly matters to the people you serve.

If you're ready to make a real difference in residents' lives every single day, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!

We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
