Activity Assistant

Pay Range: $19.00–$23.75 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)

About the Role

The Activity Assistant supports the Activity Director in creating and delivering engaging, meaningful activities that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors, building relationships, and bringing creativity and energy to the day.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with planning and leading individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
  • Help create and maintain the monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, reading, outings, and other meaningful activities.
  • Provide appropriate activities and materials for residents who are unable to participate in group activities.
  • Assist with resident assessments, activity care plans, and progress documentation.
  • Help coordinate resident transportation for outings, appointments, and discharges as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure Activity Department.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in long-term care or senior living is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creativity, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting older adults.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and written instructions.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
