THIS POSITION REQUIRES A NA-C OR HCA CERTIFICATION

Primary Scheduled Hours: Day shift, 80 hours per pay period

Job Summary: Is responsible for assisting, leading, and overseeing a diverse range of recreational activities to engage participants, ensuring their safety and overall enjoyment while adhering to established guidelines and budget constraints.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides direction for recreational, social, and spiritual activities for the facility residents.
• Notifies appropriate licensed staff when patient complains of pain.
• Interviews and completes Activity Assessments within 14 days of admission.
• Interviews and completes assessment of Swing bed patient upon notification. Completes care-plans and documents into EPIC.
• Maintains programs designed to make life more meaningful, to fully stimulate and support physical and mental capabilities and to enable the resident to maintain the highest attainable social, physical and emotional functioning.
• Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families.
• Assists with voter registration and address changes as needed.
• Assist in providing and leading activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.
• Oversees maintenance of activity equipment and supplies.
• Assists residents with activities; is compassionate, sensitive to other’s needs, and understanding. Motivates, listens to, and converses well with older people.

Education Background and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Required Licensure / Certifications:

NA-C preferred but may have HCA

Current driver’s license in good standing.

Required Experience:

NA-C experience and or experience in a Residential Care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

DD, Mental Health, and Dementia Training.

Food Handler’s Card.

Professional Requirements:

• Maintain regulatory requirements
• Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
• Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
