The Research Assistant will support school based research activities focused on children’s learning and development. The assistant will work directly in early childhood or K–12 educational settings to administer assessments, collect observational data, and assist with organizing study materials. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and comfort interacting with children, teachers, and school staff. Part-Time Hourly Research Assistant Position. The weekly hours are variable depending on the scheduling of research visits and activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Administering Research Instruments (70%)
Assist with distributing and collecting surveys, assessments, or observational tools in classrooms.
Follow standardized administration procedures to ensure data reliability.
Recording and Managing Data (10%)
Accurately enter data into spreadsheets or research databases.
Maintain organized logs of completed forms, participant IDs, and any issues encountered.
Supporting On‑Site Coordination (20%)
Communicate with teachers and school staff to schedule data collection sessions.
Help set up materials, manage timing, and ensure smooth logistics during classroom visit.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of introductory college coursework in human development and/or education
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Organizational skills: Strong organizational skills for managing data and project tasks
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentation
Collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a research team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
Prior exposure to research, data entry, or observational methods

Compensation Pay Range:
$15 to $25 per hour
