OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Identity Engineer to design, support, and enhance enterprise identity platforms across Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID environments. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, scalable hybrid identity solutions that support critical business operations in a highly regulated financial services environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Active Directory architecture, Entra ID, identity lifecycle management, Conditional Access, MFA, and modern authentication technologies, while serving as a trusted technical advisor for identity-related initiatives.

The Identity Engineer will lead efforts to strengthen identity security through Zero Trust principles, privileged access management, authentication hardening, and threat detection capabilities. Responsibilities include administration of Active Directory forests, domains, trusts, and Group Policy, as well as supporting hybrid identity integrations using Entra Connect. The role will also leverage advanced automation and development skills, including PowerShell, Microsoft Graph APIs, REST APIs, and Git-based source control, to streamline identity operations, improve efficiency, and support modernization efforts across the enterprise.

Success in this position requires strong troubleshooting and operational support experience, including identity monitoring, reporting, incident response, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will have experience with tools such as Splunk, KQL, CrowdStrike Identity Protection, and access governance solutions, with knowledge of regulatory frameworks including SOX, NIST, FFIEC, and NYDFS. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), CI/CD pipelines, and integrations with platforms such as ServiceNow, CyberArk, or SailPoint is highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to drive strategic identity initiatives while helping ensure the security, compliance, and resilience of the organization's identity infrastructure.

This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.64 - $77.74/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
