Actemium Design, part of VINCI Energies, is seeking talented Mechanical Designers and Engineers at all levels, from Designer to Principal Engineer, to join our growing design offices. Lead or contribute to the development of high-quality mechanical design deliverables, such as equipment layout drawings, detailed component designs, 3D CAD models, calculations, and technical reports.
Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams (EC&I, process, and project management) to ensure fully integrated engineering solutions.
Apply knowledge of mechanical systems and industry standards to engineer safe, robust, and cost-effective solutions.
Undertake engineering calculations and design validation activities to verify fitness-for-purpose and statutory compliance.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, safety studies, and constructability workshops to drive technical excellence and manage potential risks.
Review and check technical documents, drawings, and calculations—supporting continuous improvement of design quality and compliance processes.
Share knowledge, mentor junior engineers and designers, and contribute to a proactive learning environment.
Support the preparation of technical specifications, project documentation, procurement packages, and client proposals.
Relevant qualification in mechanical engineering (Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent experience).
Proven background in mechanical design ideally within regulated sectors — for example, nuclear, energy, oil & gas, process or heavy industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical systems and assemblies, and plant/equipment design.
Experience producing or checking 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
Knowledge of UK and international engineering standards and statutory regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively—explaining concepts clearly and engaging with diverse teams and clients.
Analytical and detail-focused, with problem-solving skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to client/project sites as needed.
