Job Opportunity: ACS Lending Closet Assistant

Make a Difference Behind the Mission

Join U.S. Army Garrison Italy as an ACS Lending Closet Assistant and play a vital role in supporting military families during their transitions. You'll manage essential household items that help newcomers settle into their temporary housing while they await permanent accommodations. This position is perfect for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys helping others, and wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of service members and their families.

This position is an excellent fit for a military spouse or someone with first-hand experience supporting military life, offering both professional fulfillment and scheduling flexibility.

What You'll Do

• Maintain an accurate inventory of lending closet household items, tracking items lent and returned
• Assist customers with selecting and checking out household essentials for temporary use
• Maintain replacement item lists for procurement coordination
• Update the Client Tracking System (CTS) daily with customer contacts and transactions
• Prepare monthly statistics reports for program effectiveness tracking
• Provide community information services relevant to ACS relocation programs
• Prepare welcome packets for incoming families and sponsors
• Provide excellent customer service to military families during transition periods

What You Bring

• You have excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations
• You are physically able to handle household items and maintain inventory
• You’re mission-minded and want to support the military community in a meaningful way.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative functions, customer service, and office operations
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based programs
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
