Job Title: ACE Activity Leader

Reports To: ACE Program Coordinator & Campus Administration

Organization: Tejano Center

Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools

Location: RYSS Primary School at Broadway

POSITION SUMMARY

The ACE Activity Leader provides a safe, structured, and engaging after-school experience for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. The Activity Leader plans and facilitates academic, enrichment, recreational, and social-emotional activities; maintains accurate program records; supports student supervision and dismissal; and helps ensure that campus implementation meets ACE grant requirements and RYSS expectations. Prekindergarten students may participate when enrolled with an eligible sibling.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree, college coursework, or relevant certification preferred.
  • Experience working with elementary-age children in a school, childcare, after-school, camp, recreation, tutoring, or youth-development setting preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate structured activities and manage groups of students effectively.
  • Strong communication, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to complete required background checks, training, and documentation before working with students.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of child development, positive behavior supports, and age-appropriate instructional and enrichment practices.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans, activity guides, schedules, safety procedures, and grant documentation requirements.
  • Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies, follow directions, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Basic technology skills for attendance, communication, records, and program reporting.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Emp Employment Status: Part-Time, Grant-Funded (3:45 � 6:00pm)

Work Calendar Status: 10 Months (195 days)

Salary: $15/hrly
