With over 14 years’ experience supporting legal professionals in securing high-quality opportunities, Accutrainee is well placed to help you take the next step in your career.
Through our Accuflex service, we partner with a wide range of organisations, including leading in-house legal teams, offering flexible and career-enhancing secondment opportunities.
We are currently working with a confidential in-house legal team to identify a junior Legal Operations secondee, offering a strong opportunity to gain exposure to the operational and strategic side of a legal function.
This is a 12-month, full-time secondment based in London within an established in-house legal team. You will work closely with the Legal Operations lead, supporting the smooth running of the team’s day-to-day activities while contributing to broader operational initiatives.
The role is particularly well suited to candidates who are interested in how legal teams function from a process, systems, and operational perspective, rather than purely fee-earning work.
The successful candidate is expected to start in June 2026
You will be involved in a wide range of operational tasks that underpin the effectiveness of the legal team, including:
Supporting the coordination of new joiners and leavers, ensuring systems and internal processes are kept up to date and knowledge is appropriately handed over
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of reports relating to legal spend, budgets, and key risk metrics, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
Maintaining and improving the quality of data within matter management and internal tracking systems
Assisting with the administration of invoicing processes and purchase orders, helping to resolve queries and ensure timely processing in line with internal guidelines
Drafting internal updates and communications relating to process changes, policies, and key developments
Contributing to the review and refinement of existing workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency
Supporting the rollout and ongoing use of legal tools and systems, including providing guidance where required
Coordinating meetings, updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team
Assisting with a range of legal operations projects and initiatives, depending on team priorities
We are seeking candidates with a genuine interest in legal operations and a strong foundation in working within structured, process-driven environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience within a legal or in-house environment, for example as a paralegal, legal coordinator, or similar
Exposure to working with legal processes, systems, or operational workflows
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with data and documentation
Clear and professional communication skills
A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
Good technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and an interest in legal technology
Any experience working with legal systems, reporting tools, or process improvement initiatives would be beneficial.
London-based role with a regular office presence expected
12-month secondment within a confidential in-house legal team
Opportunity to develop experience in legal operations, legal technology, and the management of in-house legal functions
We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis and would encourage early applications, as we are aiming to share profiles with the client shortly.
As part of the process, we will explore your interest in legal operations and your suitability for this type of role.

Accutrainee provides a unique, flexible and efficient way for law firms and in-house legal teams to take on trainee solicitors and for graduates to benefit from bespoke training contracts designed around them.
Trainees can gain experience in more than one organisation during their training contract or stay at one firm for the whole two years. There is no typical training contract at Accutrainee. To date, all of our trainees have secured positions on qualification.
We employ trainees under training contracts and second them to law firms and in-house legal teams in accordance with our clients' requirements and business needs. The result is improved efficiency and flexibility for our clients and greater opportunities for our trainees.
We work with organisations who have their own trainee cohort as well as those who have wanted to take on trainees in the past but not yet done so. Our role is to ensure clients get access to quality assured trainees but without having to worry about anything else as it’s all taken care of by us!
We are continually talking to firms and in-house teams about their trainee requirements and therefore we have training contracts opportunities starting all year round.
During training contracts, we heavily monitor trainees ensuring that all training requirements are met and exceeded and to ensure each trainee is day one competent. We also deliver additional mentoring to each trainee so that they get the support and guidance they need during this crucial time in their career development.
Our extremely robust selection process takes place all year round enabling us to meet far greater numbers of candidates to understand their strengths and competencies. This method is crucial to supporting our passion and focus on improving diversity within the legal profession.
