Accounts Receivables Team Lead

Department: Accounting & Finance

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Pune


The Accounts Payable Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, process improvement, and strong stakeholder management to support effective financial control and service delivery against agreed SLA’s and KPI’s; identifying any issues when they occur, working with internal and external stakeholders to provide excellent service to Davies Group internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Lead the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, supplier statement reconciliations, and query resolution
  • Ensure all invoices are processed accurately, on time, and in line with company policies, controls, and approval matrices
  • Monitor daily workflows, workloads, and priorities to meet SLAs and month‑end deadlines
  • Review and approve payments in accordance with delegated authority limits Support month‑end close activities, including accruals, reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations

Team Leadership

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable team, providing clear direction and regular feedback
  • Allocate work effectively and ensure appropriate cover during periods of absence
  • Conduct performance reviews, one‑to‑ones, and support training and development plans
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality service delivery

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies
  • Support internal and external audits, addressing queries and implementing recommendations
  • Maintain and improve documentation of AP processes and procedures

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers Resolve escalated supplier issues professionally and promptly
  • Work closely with Procurement, Treasury, and Financial Accounting teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end processes

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Invoice processing accuracy and turnaround times
  • On‑time payment performance
  • Supplier query resolution times
  • Team productivity and engagement
  • Audit findings and control compliance

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable with total 4-6 years’ experience.
  • Previously worked in Accounts Payable in a shared services environment
  • Batchelor of Commerce degree or related
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, process, and systems. Good working knowledge and experience of ERP’s
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Analytical Thinking - acquiring a proper understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships & linkages between processes.
  • Ability to set clear priorities and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to articulate complex information.
  • Attention to detail, and accurate fact-based interpretation
