What You’ll Do:
Provide hands-on supervision of billing and collections staff supporting Samaritan’s Palliative Care services.
Manage accounts receivable performance to achieve established goals related to A/R days, cash collections, productivity, and denial reduction.
Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and other payer regulations impacting palliative care billing.
Review and analyze revenue cycle reports including charge reports, daily collection logs, rejection reports, and A/R aging reports.
Monitor and audit all revenue cycle functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with third-party payers to facilitate timely resolution of outstanding A/R issues.
Identify revenue cycle issues and provide education or process improvements as needed.
Monitor and update billing rates for Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and community payers related to palliative care services.
Audit payer payments to ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements.
Supervise, train, coach, evaluate, and develop billing and collections staff to meet monthly performance goals.
Ensure staff are appropriately cross-trained in billing workflows and EMR/billing systems.
Ensure timely resolution of open accounts, including troubleshooting complex billing issues.
Coordinate the timely and accurate monthly revenue cycle close in alignment with Finance reporting timelines.
Serve as the Finance liaison with IT, EMR vendors, and third-party vendors related to billing system support and upgrades.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring to Our Team:
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (experience may be substituted).
Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare revenue cycle environment.
Three (3) to five (5) years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with hands-on billing and collections expertise.
Working knowledge of Netsmart (myUnity), MicroMD, and patient accounting systems.
Strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and maintain productivity and quality standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
