The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the customer invoicing process for assigned customers. The Accounts receivable Specialist should be detail-oriented and motivated to provide a positive customer invoicing experience. The specialist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently managing the billing process, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection, and resolving any billing discrepancies or issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
➢ Generate and process accurate invoices in a timely manner.
➢ Review billing data for accuracy and completeness.
➢ Maintain billing records and documentation.
➢ Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment collection.
➢ Resolve billing discrepancies and issues promptly.
➢ Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment arrangements.
➢ Form a positive working relationship with internal and external clients.
➢ Become a subject matter expert on assigned customer accounts learning and documenting their administrative and invoicing requirements.
➢ Collaborate with business development, peers, and project management teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
➢ Assist with month-end closing activities as needed.
➢ Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to billing.
Qualifications
➢ Associates Degree in Accounting or Business required, Bachelors preferred. General understanding of basic Accounting principles and disciplines.
➢ Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and negotiate and meet critical timelines.
➢ Good oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contacts.
➢ Intermediate computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word and basic Accounting software, prior ERP systems experience is helpful.
➢Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
