The Opportunity.
Smart & Biggar is currently looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist (Trust Administration) to join our National Finance Team.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in trust administration and accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is committed to accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities.
• Process and reconcile trust transactions, including trust disbursements
• Apply cash receipts accurately and ensure proper allocation across client accounts
• Ensure full compliance with Law Society rules and regulations related to trust accounts
• Complete month-end trust reconciliations
• Act as a resource for internal staff regarding client and trust account inquiries
• Assist with finance-related projects and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications, competencies and experience.
• Accounting and/or finance education
• 5+ years related work experience in accounts receivable
• Proficiency in French and English (as the firm serves a predominantly international clientele whose language of communication is English, fluency in English is a requirement)
• High proficiency with MS office, familiarity with Elite 3E is a plus
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Great attention to detail, highly motivated and proactive
