Accounts Receivable Officer
Glass Outlet is recognised Australia-wide as a leader in the wholesale supply of glass, aluminium fencing, balustrading, aluminium screening, shower screens and accessories
A full-time position is now available for a motivated and experienced Accounts Receivable Officer.
Working as part of a supportive and friendly finance team, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing daily customer receipts and completing account reconciliations
- Managing customer accounts and ensuring account information remains accurate and up to date
- Issuing monthly customer statements
- Managing new customer account applications in accordance with the company’s credit policies and procedures
- Providing customers with copies of invoices and statements when requested
- Managing the Accounts Receivable inbox and maintaining accurate records
- Following up overdue accounts and working with customers to resolve outstanding balances
- Negotiating payment arrangements where required
- Placing accounts on hold and assisting with changes to customer credit limits
- Providing monthly reports on overdue accounts and payment concerns
- Completing daily reconciliations for kiosk banking and Square
- Assisting with month-end processes and providing supporting documentation to auditors
- Providing backup support for Accounts Payable and fortnightly payroll
- Supporting the Finance and Leadership teams with other duties as required
To be successful in the role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control, preferably within a high-volume environment
- A high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
- Strong account reconciliation, data entry and account-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident phone manner with strong active-listening skills
- Ability to follow up outstanding accounts professionally and achieve results
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Office
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
- At least three years of accounting-related experience is highly desirable
- An accounting qualification would be viewed favourably but is not essential
