Why This Role Is Valuable

The Manager, Accounts Receivable, oversees all activities related to accounts receivable, including billing, cash application, collections, credit management, revenue-related reconciliations, dispute resolution, and AR reporting. This role is critical to optimizing cash flow, reducing credit risk, and strengthening the overall financial health of Revantage portfolio companies. In addition, the onshore team will rely on this role to manage AR system implementations and automation initiatives in collaboration with portfolio companies and internal stakeholders. This position is based out of Bangalore, India.

How You Add Value

Stakeholder Service

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with cost centers and portfolio companies, building trust, while providing excellent client service to ensure that information needs and reporting requirements are met.

  • Manage and develop the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient execution of AR processes.

  • Partner with portfolio companies, asset management, and internal stakeholders to drive proactive collections and resolve billing issues.

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal corporate policies.

  • Oversee AR system integrations, enhancements, and automation initiatives

  • Act as the primary escalation point for AR-related inquiries across the business

  • Draft communications to portfolio company stakeholders when ad-hoc requests arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functional

  • Lead and manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable operations including billing, cash application, collections, PC communications, and overall management of the offshore accounts receivable teams in Gurgaon and Bangalore.

  • Ensure that the team:

  • Generate invoices and account updates to portfolio companies

  • Calculate and prepare manual billings for non-routine, complex billing arrangements

  • Coordinate with various levels of management and cost centers to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare reports and analyses

  • Review invoices for accuracy before sending them to onshore supervisor for review and sign-off

  • Receive, sort, and track incoming payments

  • Manage the status of accounts and balances and identify inconsistencies

  • Ensure all portfolio companies are informed of their outstanding debts and deadlines

  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with onshore accounting and treasury teams

  • Perform first level financial analysis of accounts receivable invoices and customer billing data used by accounting and senior management

  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports

  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned related to billing functions and other clerical needs

  • Ensure all AR activities (including deliverables) undergo robust review before submission to the onshore team.

  • Validate reconciliations, schedules, and close packs for completeness and accuracy

  • Identify control gaps and drive corrective actions to prevent repeat issues

  • Assess and react to changing business conditions, in terms of their impact on the supported organization.

  • Ensure team’s processes and procedures support the department’s goals according to guidelines and policies.

  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and efficiency gains across AR including future implementations of the Workday AR module.

Relationship Management

  • Proven capability in managerial review, risk identification, and control ownership

  • Accountable to portfolio company’s satisfaction with the accounting team’s performance, responsiveness, and interactions

  • Lead initiatives to ensure smooth business partner experience across the team.

  • Become day-to-day go-to person for Revantage business partners, including portfolio company and Blackstone.

  • Respond to business partner inquiries and commit to deliverables by leveraging resources across the team.

  • Partner with other team members to identify and drive external relationships with the team’s key contacts and stakeholders, including third-party accounting departments and third-party operators’ accounting teams.

  • Assist other portfolio companies during project initiatives on need to basis.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes

  • Master’s Degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or closely related field

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in AR; general accounting and/or financial analysis

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, to include Pivot Tables, Power BI

  • Knowledge of accounting software and databases (e.g. Workday, Essbase Preferred)

  • General understanding of financial models, corporate financials and regulatory market.

  • Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines, with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels.

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to stay knowledgeable about research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

TEAM AND WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT

  • Manage teams with focus on effective operational execution, responsible for the short to mid-term operational and tactical team activities.

  • Focus on team performance and career planning of team members.

  • A desire to work in an international team environment, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively allocate tasks across multiple team members to ensure efficient utilization of resources.

  • Define tasks to ensure delivery of services to assigned business partners is in accordance with service level agreements.

  • Passion for making business processes more efficient and successful.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ensure a positive working relationship within the team and with RNA office by measuring customer/ employee satisfaction and developing on them.

  • Support RNA AVP/VP in managing human resource planning, selection, development and periodic performance review of your team members.

  • Act as single point of contact for RNA AVP/VP and escalate issues and improvement suggestions when necessary.

  • Experience with documenting processes and memorializing standard operating procedures.

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes.

  • Liaise with 3rd party administrators and finance team in RNA.

  • Managing Ad hoc project work
